Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in January 2014 was 101.29 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in January 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, the January 2014 NTP increased by 0, 42 percent due to an increase in the price index received by farmers is greater than an increase in the price index paid by farmers in general.
  • The South Sumatra Agricultural Exchange (NTUP) in January 2014 was 105.63 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in January 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, NTUP in January 2014 increased by 1, 09 percent.
  • The NTP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in January 2014 was 101.32 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in January 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, the NTP without fishery in January 2014 increased by 0.44 percent.
  • NTUP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in January 2014 was 105.72 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in January 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, NTUP in January 2014 increased by 1.11 percent.
  • Based on the NTP sub-sector, in January 2014 the sub-sector experienced an increase compared to December 2013, namely the horticulture sub-sector and the community plantation sub-sector respectively experiencing an increase of 0.67 percent and 1.19 percent. While the sub-sectors that experienced a decline were the food crops sub-sector, the livestock sub-sector and the fisheries sub-sector respectively down by 0.27 percent, 1.12 percent and 0.08 percent.
  • The NTUP sub-sector experienced an increase in January 2014 compared to December 2013, namely the food crops sub-sector, the horticulture sub-sector, the people's plantation sub-sector and the fisheries sub-sector, respectively 0.50 percent, 1.26 percent, 1.87 percent and 0.51 percent. While the NTUP of the livestock sub-sector in January 2014 decreased compared to December 2013, from 108.60 percent to 107.95 percent or down 0.60 percent
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In January 2014 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 1.26 percent, all expenditure components experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in the foodstuffs group at 1.82 percent.
