Abstract

1. Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in September 2014 amounted to 100.78 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in September 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, the September 2014 NTP decreased by 0.61 percent due to a decrease in the price index received by farmers while the price index paid by farmers in general has increased.
2. The Agricultural Business Exchange (NTUP) of South Sumatra in September 2014 was 105.01 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in September 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, NTUP in September 2014 down by 0.49 percent.
3. The NTP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in September 2014 was 100.72 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in September 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, the FTT without fisheries in September 2014 fell by 0.63 percent.
4. NTUP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in September 2014 was 104.99 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in September 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, NTUP September 2014 fell by 0, 49 percent.
5. Based on the NTP and NTUP sub-sectors, in September 2014 almost all sub-sectors experienced a decline compared to August 2014 except for the horticulture and animal husbandry sub-sector. and 1.16 percent, the food crops sub-sector fell 0.79 percent and 0.63 percent, and the fisheries sub-sector fell 0.18 percent and 0.35 percent. Whereas the FTT and NTUP of the horticulture sub-sector rose 1.15 percent and 1.25 percent and the FTT and NTUP of the agriculture sub-sector experienced an increase of 0.61 percent and 0.68 percent respectively.
6. Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In September 2014 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.27 percent, all expenditure groups experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in the housing group by 0.58 percent
