Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in October 2013 was 109.68 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in October 2013 was better than the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, the October 2013 NTP increased by 0, 53 percent due to an increase in the price index received by farmers is greater than an increase in the price index paid by farmers in general.

The NTP of Paddy & Palawija in South Sumatra in October 2013 was 122.78 percent, indicating that rice and palawija farmers were relatively prosperous compared to the 2007 base year. When compared to the previous month, the NTP of rice and palawija in October 2013 rose by 0.18 percent.

Horticulture NTP in October 2013 was 114.90 percent, meaning the level of welfare of horticultural farmers was better than the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, October horticultural NTP rose by 0.92 percent.

The NTP of smallholder plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in October 2013 was 91.76 percent, indicating that the purchasing power of planters in South Sumatra was still lower than the base year in 2007. When compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers in October 2013 increased 0 , 75 percent.

Farmer Exchange Rate in South Sumatra in October 2013 was 107.20 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers was relatively better compared to the base year 2007. When compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers experienced an increase of 0.91 percent.

The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in October 2013 was 111.96 percent. When compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of fishermen rose by 0.40 percent.

Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In October 2013, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.20 percent, mainly due to an increase in the clothing group price index by 0.65 percent.
