Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in March 2013 was 110.27 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in March 2013 was better than the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, March 2013 NTP decreased by 0.04 caused by the increase in the price index received by farmers in general is lower than the increase in the price index paid by farmers.
  • NTP Padi & Palawija in South Sumatra in March 2013 amounted to 124.64 percent, indicating that rice and palawija farmers were relatively prosperous compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the NTP of rice and palawija in March 2013 decreased by 0.21 percent.
  • Horticulture NTP in March 2013 was 111.95 percent, meaning that the welfare level of horticultural farmers was better than the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, February's horticultural FTT fell by 0.47 percent.
  • The NTP of smallholder plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in March 2013 was 93.65 percent, indicating that the purchasing power of planters in South Sumatra was still lower than the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of planters in March 2013 increased 0 50 percent.
  • Farmer Exchange Rate in South Sumatra in March 2013 was 104.19 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers was relatively better compared to the base year 2007. When compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers experienced an increase of 0.03 percent.
  • Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in March 2013 was 113.83 percent. However, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of fishermen dropped by 0.65 percent.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In March 2013, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.33 percent, mainly due to an increase in the price index of the foodstuffs group of 0.45 percent.
