Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in November 2013 was 109.80 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in November 2013 was better than the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, the November 2013 NTP increased by 0.11 percent. because the increase in the price index received by farmers is greater than the increase in the price index paid by farmers in general.
  • NTP Padi & Palawija in South Sumatra in November 2013 amounted to 124.32 percent, indicating that rice and palawija farmers were relatively prosperous compared to the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, the NTP of rice and palawija in November 2013 rose by 1.25 percent.
  • Horticultural NTP in November 2013 was 116.00 percent, meaning the level of welfare of horticultural farmers was better than the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, November's horticultural NTP rose by 0.95 percent.
  • The NTP of smallholder plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in November 2013 was 90.08 percent, indicating that the capability of smallholders in South Sumatra was still lower than the base year in 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of planters in November 2013 dropped1.83 percent .
  • Farmer Exchange Rate in South Sumatra in November 2013 was 106.09 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers was relatively better compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers experienced a decrease of 1.03 percent.
  • The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in November 2013 was 111.28 percent. However, when compared with the previous month, the fisherman exchange rate dropped by 0.61 percent.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In November 2013, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced an increase of 0.29 percent, mainly due to an increase in the price index of the processed food group by 0.62 percent.
