Abstract
- South Sumatra's Large and Medium Manufacturing Industry (IBS) production growth in the third quarter of 2019 increased by 7.62 percent (q-to-q) compared to the second quarter of 2019. The increase in IBS production growth in the third quarter of 2019 was mainly contributed by an increase growth in the paper and paper products industry (KBLI 17) and the food industry (KBLI 10) which experienced an increase in production growth of 33.02 percent and 15.14 percent respectively. Whereas for the chemical industry and chemical goods (KBLI) 20) experienced the highest slowdown in growth of minus 6.14 percent, and was followed by the rubber industry, rubber and plastic goods (KBLI 22) which decreased by minus 1.09 percent.
- The growth of the production of the Large and Medium Manufacturing Industry (IBS) of South Sumatra in the third quarter of 2019 decreased by minus 15.50 percent (y-on-y) compared to the third quarter of 2018. The decline was quite high because almost all industries experienced a decline in growth, namely the food industry (KBLI 10) down by minus 21.48 percent, the rubber industry, rubber and plastic goods (KBLI 22) by minus 14.28 percent, and the paper and paper goods industry (KBLI 17) minus 5.35 percent while the chemical industry and chemical goods (KBLI 20) increased by 7.45 percent.
- The growth of IBS production for the national quarter III 2019 in q-to-q increased by 5.13 percent, and y-on-y increased by 4.35 percent.
- South Sumatra's Micro and Small Manufacturing Industry (IMK) production growth in the third quarter of 2019 increased by 0.13 percent (q-to-q) compared to the second quarter of 2019. The increase in production growth was influenced by positive growth from several industries, including ytdl machinery and equipment industry (KBLI 28) rose 24.61 percent and the textile industry (KBLI 13) rose 7.52 percent, while the chemical and chemical products industry (KBLI 20) experienced the highest production decline of minus 19.21 percent .

South Sumatra's Micro and Small Manufacturing
Industry (IMK) production growth in the third quarter of 2019 increased by
13.79 percent (y-on-y) compared to the third quarter of 2018. The highest
growth occurred in the wood industry, wood products, wood products and corks
and woven goods from bamboo, rattan and the like (KBLI 16) by 52.01 percent,
while IMK with the lowest production growth was the leather, leather and
footwear (KBLI 15) industry with growth of minus 17.41 percent.
The growth
of IMKv production for the national quarter III
2019 on a q-to-q basis increased by 0.29 percent and y-on-y increased by 6.19
percent.
