Abstract

GROWTH OF MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY GROWTH IN QUARTER II UP BY 1.25 PERCENT COMPARED TO QUARTER I OF 2014
  • The growth of the production of the Large Medium Manufacturing Industry (IBS) of South Sumatra in the Second Quarter of 2014 (q-to-q) was 1.25 percent, an increase compared to the growth in the First Quarter of minus 0.10 percent. Whereas y-on-y production growth in Quarter II 2014 was 8.06 percent, down from the growth in Quarter I of 10.51 percent.
  • IBS with the highest growth was the Food Industry by 1.53 percent, while the Timber, Timber and Cork Industry and Woven Bamboo, Rattan and the like experienced negative growth of minus 1.86 percent.
  • Nationally, IBS production growth was 2.34 percent (q-to-q) and 4.57 percent (y-on-y).
GROWTH OF SMALL-MANUFACTURING OF MICRO-MANUFACTURING IN QUARTER II UP BY 6.05 PERCENT COMPARED TO QUARTER I OF 2014
  • South Sumatra's Micro and Small Manufacturing Industry (IMK) Production Growth in Quarter II 2014 was 6.05 percent (q-to-q), while IMK y-on-y production growth was 7.34 percent.
  • The highest IMK production growth occurred in the Food Industry by 11.24 percent, while the lowest production growth was owned by the YTDL Machinery and Equipment Industry by minus 6.48 percent.
  • South Sumatra's q-to-q IMK production growth was slightly lower than the national growth of 6.17 percent, while South Sumatra's y-on-y production growth was actually higher than the national growth of 4.07 percent.
