Abstract

The value of South Sumatra exports in October 2014 increased by 3.66 percent compared to September 2014. However, when compared with the same period in 2013 (October 2013) South Sumatra Province exports decreased by 14.02 percent.
The export value of South Sumatra Province in October 2014 was US $ 277.99 million consisting of oil and gas exports of US $ 63.25 million and US $ 216.74 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports.
Malaysia, the United States and China are still the main destination countries for South Sumatra exports in January - October 2014, reaching US $ 647.36 million, US $ 453.88 million and US $ 311.67 million, respectively, with the roles of the three 53.51 percent of total exports in January - October 2014.
Exports to the European Union in January - October 2014 reached US $ 342.05 million (12.95 percent of total exports) and exports to ASEAN reached US $ 738.88 million (27.98 percent of total exports).
According to the Sector, compared to January - October 2013, exports of industrial products from January to October 2014 decreased by 24.84 percent, so did agricultural exports decreased by 13.19 percent while mining products increased by 41.62 percent.
