Abstract

The value of South Sumatra exports in September 2014 increased by 16.81 percent compared to August 2014. However, when compared with the same period in 2013 (September 2013) exports of South Sumatra Province experienced a decrease of 10.65 percent
The export value of South Sumatra Province in September 2014 was US $ 270.11 million consisting of oil and gas exports of US $ 63.20 million and US $ 206.91 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports.
Malaysia, the United States and China are still the main destination countries for South Sumatra exports in January - September 2014, reaching US $ 557.55 million, US $ 422.63 million and US $ 276.02 million, respectively, with the roles of the three reaching 53.22 percent of total exports in January - September 2014.
Exports to the European Union in January - September 2014 reached US $ 306.85 million (13.00 percent of total exports) and ASEAN exports reached US $ 638.73 million (27.06 percent of total exports).
According to the Sector, compared to January - September 2013, exports of industrial products from January to September 2014 decreased by 24.72 percent, so did agricultural exports decreased by 15.00 percent while mining products increased by 47.21 percent.
