Abstract

In January-October 2024, domestic tourist trips to South Sumatra reached 14.51 million trips, an increase of 63.12 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Throughout this period, the highest number of foreign tourist trips to South Sumatra occurred in April 2024, which reached 1 .85 million trips. Meanwhile, foreign tourist trips from South Sumatra reached 15.27 million trips, an increase of 75.98 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) for star hotels in October 2024 was 57.12 percent, an increase of 4.76 points compared to the previous month's TPK which was recorded at 52.36 percent. Meanwhile, when compared to the same month in 2023, the TPK for star hotels in October 2024 actually decreased by 0.03 points. Meanwhile, the ROR for non-star hotels in October 2024 was 20.23 percent, up 0.41 points year-on-year (y-on-y) and also up 0.06 points month-to-month (m-to- m).
The highest ROR for star hotels in October 2024 occurred at 5-star hotels, namely 73.31 percent and the lowest for 1-star hotels, namely 41.97 percent.
The average length of stay of guests (RLMT) at star hotels is higher than at non-star hotels. RLMT in star hotels is 1.34 nights while RLMT in non-star hotels is 1.11 nights.
