Abstract

  • In January-August 2024, domestic tourist trips to South Sumatra reached 11.26 million trips, up 57.04 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Throughout the period, the highest number of domestic tourist trips to South Sumatra occurred in April 2024, reaching 1.85 million trips. Meanwhile, domestic tourist trips from South Sumatra reached 12.00 million trips, up 73.71 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
  • The Room Occupancy Rate (RoR) of starred hotels in August 2024 was 52.68 percent, an increase of 0.38 points compared to the Room Occupancy Rate of the previous month which was recorded at 52.30 percent. When compared to the same month in 2023, the Room Occupancy Rate of starred hotels in August 2024 decreased by 6.18 points. Meanwhile, the Room Occupancy Rate of non-starred hotels in August 2024 reached 20.30 percent, down 1.22 points year-on-year (y-on-y) and up 1.06 points month-to-month (m-to-m).
  • The highest occupancy rate of star-rated hotels in August 2024 was in 5-star hotels, namely 68.65 percent, and the lowest was in 1-star hotels, namely 41.39 percent.
  • The average length of stay of guests in starred hotels is higher than in non-starred hotels. The average length of stay of guests in starred hotels is 1.38 nights while the average length of stay of guests in non-starred hotels is 1.13 nights.
