February 2023 Inflation Year on Year (yoy) Combined 2 CPI Cities in Sumatera Selatan of 5.43 Percent

 In February 2023 there was year on year (yoy) inflation of 5.43 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 113.39. Yoy inflation in Palembang City was 5.44 percent with a CPI of 113.39 and in Lubuk Linggau City it was 5.40 percent with a CPI of 113.44.

·         Inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by increases in most of the expenditure group indices, namely: the transportation group by 14.32 percent; the food, beverage and tobacco group by 7.25 percent; personal care and other services group of 6.74 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 5.23 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group of 4.11 percent; the education group by 3.93 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 3.85 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 3.62 percent; the health group by 1.90 percent; and the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 1.14 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in index was the information, communication and financial services group by 0.04 percent.

·         The February 2023 month to month (mtm) inflation rate was 0.08 percent and the February 2023 year to date (ytd) inflation rate was 0.43 percent.

·         The core component inflation rate for February 2023 on a yoy basis was 3.56 percent while mtm inflation was 0.27 percent and ytd inflation was 0.57 percent.
