Abstract

The value of South Sumatra exports in May 2014 decreased by 2.05 percent compared to April 2014. Likewise when compared with the same period in 2013 (May 2013) exports of the Province of South Sumatra decreased by 19.34 percent.

The export value of South Sumatra Province in May 2014 was US $ 268.44 million consisting of oil and gas exports of US $ 49.07 million and US $ 219.37 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports.

Malaysia, the United States, and China are still the main destination countries for South Sumatra exports in January - May 2014, reaching US $ 295.69 million, US $ 263.72 million and US $ 179.97 million, respectively, with the roles of the three reached 53.84 percent of total exports in January - May 2014.

Exports to the European Union in January - May 2014 reached US $ 186.04 million (13.55 percent of total exports) and ASEAN exports of US $ 338.73 million (24.66 percent of total exports).

According to the Sector, compared to January-May 2013, exports of industrial products from January to May 2014 decreased by 25.53 percent, as well as agricultural exports decreased by 22.65 percent while mining products increased by 71.86 percent
