Abstract

  • The value of South Sumatra's exports in February 2014 increased by 2.30 percent compared to January 2014. However, when compared with the same period in 2013 (February 2013) the exports of South Sumatra Province experienced a decrease of 20.96 percent.
  • The export value of South Sumatra Province in February 2014 was US $ 281.50 million consisting of oil and gas exports of US $ 41.01 million and US $ 240.49 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports.
  • The United States, Malaysia and China are still the main destination countries for South Sumatra exports in January - February 2014, reaching US $ 115.43 million, US $ 108.83 million and US $ 92.67 million, respectively, with the roles of the three reaching 56.93 percent of total exports in January - February 2014.
  • Exports to the European Union in January - February 2014 reached US $ 81.07 million (14.56 percent of total exports) and ASEAN exports reached US $ 126.50 million (22.72 percent of total exports)
  • According to the Sector, compared to January - February 2013, exports of industrial products from January to February 2014 declined by 16.49 percent, as well as agricultural exports decreased by 17.58 percent while mining products increased by 46.92 percent.
