Abstract

The value of South Sumatra's exports in December 2013 decreased by 14.72 percent compared to November 2013. Likewise when compared with the same period in 2012 (December 2012) the export of South Sumatra Province decreased by 11.99 percent.

The export value of South Sumatra Province in December 2013 was US $ 280.82 million consisting of oil and gas exports amounting to US $ 41.34 million and US $ 239.47 million from non oil and gas commodity exports

The United States, Malaysia and China are still the main destination countries for South Sumatra's exports, during January - December 2013 reaching US $ 817.94 million, US $ 727.35 million and US $ 603.45 million respectively, with the roles of the three reaching 54 , 91 percent of total exports from January to December 2013.

Exports to the European Union in January - December 2013 reached US $ 453.77 million (11.60 percent of total exports) and ASEAN exports reached US $ 857.12 million (21.90 percent of total exports)

According to the Sector, exports of industrial products in January - December 2013 decreased by 10.75 percent, as well as mining exports decreased by 27.76 percent while agricultural products increased by 4.78 percent.
