Abstract

  • In November 2012 South Sumatra's exports reached a value of US $ 332.72 million. The value of South Sumatra exports in November 2012 increased by 2.55 percent compared to October 2012. However, when compared with the same period in 2011 (November 2011) exports of the South Sumatra Province experienced a decrease of 13.82 percent.
  • The export value of South Sumatra Province in November 2012 amounted to US $ 332.72 million consisting of oil and gas exports amounting to US $ 44.50 million and US $ 288.22 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports.
  • The United States, Malaysia and China are still the main destination countries for South Sumatra's exports, during January - November 2012 reaching US $ 848.07 million, US $ 808.51 million and US $ 805.51 million, respectively, with the roles of the three 60.75 percent of total exports in January-November 2012.
  • Exports to the European Union in January - November 2012 reached US $ 440.97 million (10.88 percent of total exports). Exports to the European Union have decreased compared to the same period in 2011 which reached 698.08 Million. While ASEAN exports reached US $ 901.79 million (22.25 percent of total exports) or increased compared to the same period in 2011 with a value of US $ 815.78 million.
